John
Lipkowitz is a retired New York City attorney now living in Great
Barrington, Massachusetts. Today he considers himself primarily a
wildlife photographer, limited by how much he can travel to those
special places.
When in
the Arctic in 1998 he met several professional nature photographers and
became more seriously interested in wildlife photography. A
succession of Minolta cameras ultimately led to Canon equipment as he
recognized the potential of image stabilization and the eventual move
towards digital imaging.
Currently he uses a a Canon Xti, as well as a Canon 1D Mark II and Canon
5D, with a sequence of Canon IS and other lenses from macro to 600mm,
having shot his last film in May, 2004.
