Alaska
A trip to
Alaska in the spring of 2004 took us on a
a five hour, 95 mile, bus trip with Linblad
Expeditions, now teamed with National Geographic Expeditions, north
along the Inside Passage from Seattle to Juneau with an extension to
Denali National Park. The smaller ships are more versatile in
approaching close to shore, offer Zodiac landings and have begun to
carry kayaks and underwater video specialists as they seek
new experiential opportunities for passengers. The food and ship’s
staff is always excellent and the opportunities for camaraderie both with
fellow passengers and naturalists sharing a desire for adventure travel
often create lasting friendships.
